Explanation:

Sound is a wave . And any wave travels in space by creating crest and troughs in the space , hence , pushing themselves forward.

Considering sound , sound cannot travel in vacuum . It requires a medium to propagate.

In air , in creates vibrations which causes air molecules to form a pattern in an order of (::::: : : : : : :::::::: : : : : : :::::::: ) and so forth . Concentrated molecules and then dispersed molecules . In this fashion they form wave with crest where there is a compression of molecules and trough where there is dispersed molecular arrangement .

In this manner the sound travels forward .

NOTE: SOUND CANNOT TRAVEL IF THERE IS NOT MEDIUM (VACUUM)

HOPE THIS HELPED.
