A spark-ignition engine is an internal combustion engine, generally a petrol engine, where the combustion process of the air-fuel mixture is ignited by a spark from a spark plug. This is in contrast to compression-ignition engines, typically diesel engines, where the heat generated from compression together with the injection of fuel is enough to initiate the combustion process, without needing any external spark.

Sparking in INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE is done by An internal integral equipment called Spark plug , In internal combustion engine , either petrol or diesel version , the spark plugs inbuilt inside the engine enables the ignition stroke , along with the addition of air + fuel mix , it generates spark inside the ignition stroke configuration and hence operation goes like , ignition , combustion ,power , exhaust strokes , Hence , primarily , spark plug is the equipment
