There are five streams of home science - Food and Nutrition, Resource Management, Human Development, Fabric and Apparel Science and Communication and Extension.
Since the course has been structured in such a manner that it equips the student with a general idea of the streams, a degree in Home Science qualifies the student to choose from a wide array of job opportunities. A student trained in Home Science can also work independently as a research analyst or nutrition consultant. The opportunities for home science graduates lie mainly in non-governmental organizations and educational institutions.
