Answer:Suez Canal is a waterway in Egypt which connects Mediterranean sea with the Red Sea in Egypt. It was opened for trade in 1869. it has reduced the distance between India and Europe by 7000 km . As shown in the image below the blue line depicts the new trade way while the red shows the earlier one.  earlier it was 19,800 km but now it is just 11,600 km.
