Hi friend ,
sun doesn't get light from anywhere , nor it is made of some luminous material , that makes it shine . sun gets light and heat from the fusion of hydrogen and helium in its Core and on its surface , the fusion of one element into other releases a tremendous amount of heat and light (its the same process which is used in making hydrogen bombs , and it is more disastrous than atom bomb)
we here on earth experiment with one atom of each of these element (namely, hydrogen and helium) but on sun it takes place at every moment on the surface , in the core , everywhere on sun , so it gives us tremendous and huge amount of heat and light
=> Why do we not get affected by these fusions ?
as we are very , very far away from sun about 1.6×10¹⁴ m away so we don't get affected by these blasts of nuclear fusion .
=> how is sun made ?
sun was made or more appropriately "born" 4.6 billion years before today . its a hot ball of dust and gases and the dust and gases under the gravitational force of the sun formed the massive ball of hot gases , that is our sun .
hope this helps
