Telophase is the reverse of Prophase as the events occurring during the Telophase is just the opposite of the events in Prophase of Mitosis.

Explanation:

The events which occur in telophase which are opposite of prophase are -

  1. The viscosity of the cytoplasm decreases.
  2. The Chromosome groups formed at the end of Anaphase reorganize themselves into the nucleus.
  3. The chromosomes elongate and overlap one another to form chromatin.
  4. Nucleoplasm collects in the area of chromatin.
  5. A nuclear envelope appears around the chromatins.
  6. Spindle fiber disappears around the poles.
  7. Golgi complex and endoplasmic reticulum are formed.

Telophase is reverse of prophase because of the opposite characters of this two stages.

Prophase stage :

1. In this phase, the coiling of chromatin takes place and appears as a long structure which is thread like called chromosomes.

2. Also, nuclear membrane gets disappeared during this stage or phase.

3. Nucleolus and other organelles like golgi bodies, endoplasmic reticulum, etc gets disappeared.

Telophase stage :

1. Nuclear membrane gets appeared in this stage.

2. Also, nucleolus and organelles like endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi bodies appears again.

Because of these opposite properties of both the stages, it is said that they are reverse of each other.
