The AQI is calculated for four major air pollutants regulated by the Clean Air Act: ground- level ozone, particle pollution, carbon monoxide, and sulfur dioxide. For each of these pollutants, EPA has established national air quality standards to protect public health.The Status of Environment Report, 2004 of Chhattisgarh is prepared by Chhattisgarh Environmental Conservation Board with the help of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. The Report also analyses the Vision 2010 document brought out by the State Government of Chhattisgarh.
