in motional emf positive charges ( current ) flows from higher potential to lower potential.
because the current also flows through battery . in metallic conductor , it is the electrons that flows through the conductor. if the electrons were not flow through battery then they would eventually diminish the charge at the cathode and anode of the battery.then internal chemicals will agitate again to make cathode negative and anode positive until the reaction is exothermic.
