The flow of electrical current depends on the direction of flow of electron.
How?
When a wire is charged then the electrons being negatively charged in charge flows towards the positive external charge(i.e the applied charge).
When the electrons starts moving towards then electric current also flows in the wire.
The direction of flow of charge in the wire is opposite to the direction of flow of electron in the wire.
That is as the electron being negatively charged it flows towards the positive charge. At that instant the electric charge starts flowing from positive charge to negative charge which is in the direction opposite to the direction of the electron.
