The scores for the three HDI dimension indices are then aggregated into a composite index using geometric mean.

The Human Development Index (HDI) is the better criteria to measure the development of a country. Because all the other criteria explain only about per capita income, but HDl explains about education, per capita income, life expectancy etc. So HDl is better for measuring development.
