The different ways in which the revolutionary government translated the ideals of liberty and equality into everyday practice are as follows.

1) The revolutionary government abolished the censorship on written material and books.

2) Having been inspired by the ideals of liberty, equality and fraternity during their struggle against monarchy, the revolutionary government abolished the practice of slavery in the indigo, coffee, sugar and tobacco plantations in the French Colonies.

3) The Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen proclaimed freedom of speech and expression to be a natural right.

4) Freedom of press was allowed by the government. All the events happening in and around France were given freedom to publish news, events on entertainment, sports etc.

5) The government refrained from going to war with its traditional enemies, the English and peace was established.
