In the male,the blood flows into the penis and the penis becomes erect.Now,in the female,the vaginal walls becomes moist and the inner part of the vagina becomes wider and the clitoris enlarges.Now,the process of the intercourse starts.The sperm released by the male through his penis enters the vagina of the female.The sperm then swims up to meet the egg.The sperm and the egg when meets each other,the fertilization process takes place.The fertilized egg then needs to travel to the uterus of the female and implants into the uterine lining.The egg is now called an embryo.The egg then grows and develops into the baby over the period of 40 weeks.From the 8th week of the pregnancy,the embryo is often called as the foetus.
