The Law of Conservation of mass states that mass can neither be created nor destroyed. During any kind of change , the mass of a substance remains same before and after the change .

We can verify by an experiment ,

Aim : To verify Law of conservation of mass.

Materials required : ice cubes , water , sealable plastic bag .

Procedure : i) Take ice cubes in a sealable plastic bag . Let it melt. Suppose its mass is 30g.

ii)Take 50g of water and pour it in the plastic bag . Measure the mass . It is 80 g ( mass of melted ice cubes + mass of water )

∵Mass before and after the change of the substances remain same.
