How the mountains are able to stop rain

Explanation:

As it rises, it becomes cooler and is unable to hold the moisture, which condenses into clouds. As the air cools further, the droplets become too heavy to float in the air, and fall as rain, usually on the side of the mountain facing the water source. This is called a rain shadow.
