Plants have a unique mechanism of getting rid of waste, that is of excretion.
- They excrete some of their wastes into the soil surrounding them through their roots.
- They expel excess water in the form of water vapour through stomata in the process of transportation.
- They get rid of oxygen (by product of photosynthesis) and carbon dioxide (by product of respiration) through stomata.
- They store some of their waste products as gums and resins.
- They store waste in the old xylem cells of their leaves that later fall off.
Hope it helps!
