Plants have a unique mechanism of getting rid of waste, that is of excretion.

  1. They excrete some of their wastes into the soil surrounding them through their roots.
  2. They expel excess water in the form of water vapour through stomata in the process of transportation.
  3. They get rid of oxygen (by product of photosynthesis) and carbon dioxide (by product of respiration) through stomata.
  4. They store some of their waste products as gums and resins.
  5. They store waste in the old xylem cells of their leaves that later fall off.

Hope it helps!
