Question-:

What is satire?

It is the use of humour, irony, exaggeration. Satire is the use of humour or exaggeration in order to show how foolish or wicked some people's behaviour or ideas are.

Answer:

The Cold Within is a poem which is a satire(full of irony and exaggeration) because there from out of six people, no one is willing to put his log into fire. They are not friendly with each other.

They due to racism, envy, arrogance, revenge and greed, do not want to put their log to fire which is dying.

Explanation:

It is ironical and sad that these six people sitting together in a group are "forlorn".Their cold heartedness invites death in the end and they die with their logs held tightly in their hands.
