India is a country of varied land forms, Where we can see the great Himalayas in the North, we can see plateaus and coastal plains in the South. Northern plains provide fertile land which is ideal for the cultivation of crops and the hills in the North-east make perfect grounds for plantation of tea.
It's but obvious that the occupation of people varies according to the physical reliefs of the land. The mountains of the young Himalayas make a hub for trekkers and tourists and provide for related occupations. On the one hand, where Punjab's fertile land makes its farmers rich, people living in the deserts of Jaisalmer find it very difficult to grow many crops which limits their prospects of making big profits. As a result, people from these regions go to cities for better prospects. Coastal plains only provide for good soil for cultivation, they also are good venues for fishery which in turn, improves the economic status of people over there.
