The Earth rotate on its own axis. The axis inclined to 66 and half degree.Earth's rotation causes day and night.Due to its inclination only the hemisphere which  faces the sun is day and the other hemisphere is night.The earth rotation also causes coriolis force

The rotation of the Earth takes place for 23 hours and some minutes which is estimated to 24 hours. The circling movement of Earth on the imaginary line passing through its poles is called rotation. It is responsible for formation of day and night.
