The valency of an element :-

The valency of an element can be decided by the number of electrons in thr outermost shell of the atom.(the need tk full fill octet or duplete)

like for example oxygen has, 6 electrons in its outermost shall and it need 2 more to conplete its octet so its valency will be 2.

ans similirly you can calculate.

The one whose octet and duplete are complete have 0 valency.

like noble gases.

ex:- helium etx
