How the women condition change from ancient to medieval india?

In ancient times, womens were not allowed to do work in office or any other jobs,they were supposed to do only household works.But in medieval India these restrictions were removed and Moreover the widow remarriage were introduced and sati system was stopped by many of our social reformers.
