The black hole is 500 million trillion km away and was photographed by a network of eight telescopes across the world.

It was captured by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT), a network of eight linked telescopes.

Black holes are without a doubt one of the most awesome and awe-inspiring phenomena in the Universe. There are also one of the most mysterious, seeing as how scientists are unable to study them in the conventional sense. So elusive are they that astronomers and astrophysicists have only been studying them for about half a century.

To capture the image, astronomers reached across intergalactic space to Messier 87, or M87, a giant galaxy in the constellation Virgo.

hope it helps ^_^
