How thyroid gland affect metabolism

Hlo there....!!!
Thyroid gland is situated in the lower part of the neck and when enlarged it forms goitre. It secretes two hormones. Out if which one of them is thyroxine. It's main role is to increase the metabolic rate of the organs and tissues of the whole body.
