thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) also called thyrotropin-releasing factor(TRF) or thyroliberin, is a releasing hormone, produced by the hypothalamus, that stimulates the release of thyrotropin (thyroid-stimulating hormone or TSH) and prolactin from the anterior pituitary. It is tropic, tripeptidal hormone.
