1. Education: This is the most important ingredient to promote gender equality. Each woman should be educated atleast till 12th class so as to have basic knowledge of how world works.
2. Awareness: Of her rights. This is also very important. She should know what laws protect her from abuse. Such as Dowry Act, Domestic violence Act, Sexual harassment at workplace act etc.
3. Confidence: That she is capable of surviving alone. She doesn't need a man to exist. She should be independent, the world shouldn't scare her.
4. Financial stability: Once a woman starts earning, she tends to become more aware of the world and confidence comes in handy. Many men are intimidated by financially well off women. When a woman is dependent on man for money he tends to get a feeling that she is nothing without him. He tends to take her for granted. Once a woman starts earning there are better chances that he will treat her well. (Not all men are like that, some are)
