First, you have to make the denominators same.
For eg. -
5/3 +5/4 = ?
Now take the LCM of both the denominators.
The LCM of 3 and 4 is 12.
Now we have to make both the denominators 12.
In order to do that multiply the first fraction by 4/4.
5/3 × 4/4 = 20/12
Now multiply the second fraction by 3/3.
5/4 × 3/3 = 15/12
Now add the obtained fractions
20/12 + 15/12 = 35/12
