Answer:

The best thing I’ve ever done for my eyeshadow skill was to buy a more high-end palette, and buy a decent set of makeup brushes. The terrible sponge brush that comes with cheap palettes will do absolutely nothing for you. A fluffy blending brush allowing you to pick up the product and seamlessly blend it into other colours make it so much easier, plus they don’t have to be expensive. A set of brushes from BH cosmetics has lasted me for about 3 years, and it was a very inexpensive but clearly worth it purchase.

Also, my go-to method is to blend “transition colours” all over the eyelid and in the crease to begin with. These are just colours that set a base and allow brighter colours to blend easier. I usually go for a white all over the lid, and then a light-orangey-brown in the outer corner of my eye. Then a lighter brown over the corner and in the crease of my eyelid to lighten up the eye.

My skin personally is warm toned so I prefer to use reds, oranges, warm browns for daily looks. Make sure to always put darker colours on the outside corners of the eye, and a highlight or lighter pop of colour on the inner corner. Then blend, blend, blend!
