hiii!!!

here's ur answer...

when u want to find the length of the side of rhombus or to find the length of one of the diagonal, then we have to find it by Pythagoras thereom.

ok now u will understand it by the following examples...

1. let the Length of the diagonal be 8cm and 6cm. now we have to find the side of the rhombus.

we know that it have four equal right triangles

hypontuse of triangle=side of rhombus

therefore the length of the side contains the right angle (height) is = one of the diagonal's/2

=8/2

=4cm

base of the triangle=6/2

=3cm

we know the formula of Pythagoras thereom.

that is=a²+b²=c²

in which c² is the hypontuse and base is either a² or b² and the height is also either a² or b².

now we have to find the triangle's hypontuse to find to find the side of the rhombus.

→a²+b²=c²

→4²+3²=c²

→16+9=c²

→25=c²

→c=√25

→c=5cm

hence the side of the rhombus is 5cm.

2. now we have to find the length of one of the diagonal if one diagonal is given and length of side of the rhombus is given.

let the side of the rhombus be 10cm and diagonal is 12cm.

therefore base=12/6

=6cm

hypontuse is 10cm

→a²+b²=c²

→a²+6²=10²

→a²+36=100

→a²=100-36

→a²=64

→a=√64

→a=8cm

verification:-

c²=100

★a²+b²

★6²+8²

★36+64

★100

hence verified.

hence the height of the triangle is 8cm

and the length of the other diagonal is=8×2

=16cm

so u can use this methods to find the side of rhombus or to find the length of the diagonal.

hope this helps u..!
