Here are some of the tips from a student..
1) Be friendly with every student and try to mingle with them in not only studies but also other activities.
2)Try not teach children from book... u can just explain the topic with your own knowledge. which makes them to think wider
3) Always try to be joviel with students so that they feel free to tell there problems or their thoughts.
4) Always respect student's thoughts.. never degrade it .. it may make students to loose their self confidence...
5) Always try not to make partiality bw the students... this is the most thing happening in all the schools.. this makes the student to feel uneasy with u
