Air hostess training is not mandatory or essential to get into this profession. Self-preparation is needed. However, some institutes have come up in India and are offering training to develop basic skills required for the profession.
The Indira Gandhi Institute of Aeronautics offers a 1-3 year diploma in cabin crew services & hospitality management.
You can also pursue a distance learning course "Airline Cabin Crew Training" which requires 40-45 hours of self-study plus a 3-hour exam. This is offered by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

International airlines pay better than domestic ones, but even domestic air hostesses earn about Rs.25000 – Rs. 40000. In senior positions you can be paid up to Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 75,000 in domestic airlines.
Private airlines might pay you Rs.2 lakh a month.
Career Scope & Job Prospects
Studying and skill development is a constant thing in this career, especially if you’re angling for promotions. After about 10 years as an air hostess, you would be moved to jobs such as Ground Hostess, Check Hostess, or other airline related jobs.
Though airlines usually advertise for recruits, individuals may send in applications on their own initiative
