The General formula for calculating the closing stock is :-

Closing Stock = Opening Stock + Purchases + Direct Expenses - Cost of Goods sold

Hopes this helps you!

Answer:

The Closing Stock would be valued at 23,000

Explanation:

With the above information, we can follow the formula used for finding the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) by filling in the missing values and taking closing stock as a variable x

COGS = Opening Stock + Net Purchases + Direct Exp. - Closing Stock

64,000 = 36,000 + 45,000 + 6000 - x

87,000 - x = 64,000

- x = 64,000 -87,000

-x= -23,000

x= 23,000
