There is a relation between modulus of rigidity (G) and modulus of elasticity (E), namely,

G=E2(1+ν)G=E2(1+ν)

where νν is the Poisson’s ratio.

By substituting the value of Poisson’s ratio in to the equation above, you can easily get the ratio of modulus of rigidity to modulus of elasticity.

The equation above is derived using a special case of bidimensional stress state where the stresses in x and y direction are of same magnitude, but opposite direction, i.e. one being tensional and the other being compressive.
