How to calculate n factor simply?

Okay, so, if talk in layman's language, n-factor is nothing but the charge on a molecule or an atom. For ex: Al3+, Mg2+ has n-factor 3 and 2 respectively.


n-factor can be any of the following :


Oxidation no. or charge on cation/anion.

Change in oxidation no. if redox reaction is given.

No. Of H+ or OH- ions released if any acid or base is ionised.
