PARTICLE DISPLACEMENT is represented using letter y.

y = Asin(kx - ωt)

where y= particle displacement

A = amplitude of the wave

k = 2π/λ where λ is the wavelength of the wave

x= position of the particle

ω = angular frequency = 2π/T   where T = time period

t = time period
