*You can measure the atmospheric pressure by an instrument called BAROMETER.

* The Barometric Formula

P = Mass/Volume = (nNAm)/nRT / P
R/NA = K

n = number of moles

NA = Avogadro number

m = mass of one molecule

K = Boltzmann constant

R = Gas constant.

Starting at some point in midair, the change in pressure associated with a small change in height can be found in terms of the weight of the air.

The change in pressure depends on density, but p depends on the pressure as follows.

p = mP/kT which gives p/h = - mgp / kT
.
The solution for the change from the ground
(P0 ) to height h (Ph ) gives

The basic formula of atmospheric pressure is Ph = P0e to the power of -mgh/kt

The development of the barometric formula makes use of a number of concepts from kinetic theory, such as the ideal gas law and the associated molecular constants. In the exponential, the two terms have the units of energy. The numerator mgh is gravitational potential energy and the term kT is thermal energy.
