How to calculate the total resistance in series circuits?
Answers
Answer:
just add all the resistances. ie. r2+r2+r3+r4 and so on
Explanation:
RESISTANCE IN A SERIES CIRCUIT
In order to understand the process of calculating the resistance in a series circuit, we need to first understand what resistance and a series circuit mean.
Resistance :- The opposition to the flow of current in a circuit is known as resistance. Resistors are used in a circuit for resistance.
Series Circuit :- A close circuit in which the electricity flow follows only one path is known as a series circuit. The current throughout a series circuit is same.
Now, back to the question.
The total resistance in a series circuit is calculated by adding the values of all the resistances in the circuit.
(1) Given :-
R1 = 27Ω
R2 = 2200Ω
R3 = 15Ω
Rtotal = 27 + 2200 + 15 = 2242Ω
(2) Given :-
R1 = 3300Ω
R2 = 1500Ω
R3 = 47Ω
Rtotal = 3300 + 1500 + 47 = 4847Ω
(3) Given :-
R1 = 3300Ω
R2 = 3300Ω
R3 = 3300Ω
Rtotal = 3300 + 3300 + 3300 = 9900Ω
