First of all, to know the valency we have to know the atomic number of the element.
From the atomic number, we can find its electronic configuration and then can find its valence electrons.
The valency will be = 8 - (Valence electrons)
To calculate the molecular mass of a substance, we have to multiply the number of atoms of each element by its atomic mass and then adding the total atomic masses of the elements that are combined to form the compound.
For eg,
Water has a formula H2O
So its molecular mass= (2×1) + 16 = 18

to find valency
proton - valence electron
moleculer mass
is just exact like to calculate atomic mass of molecule
for eg
H2O
1.2+16
2+16
18
