to find the volume of a cylinder, we use :-

πr²h formula

π is 22/7 or 3.14

r is radius and h is height.

for example :-

find the volume of a cylinder whose radius of the base is 7cm and height is 14cm. ( take π = 22/7 )

solution -

volume of the cylinder = πr²h

= 22/7 × 7 × 7 × 14

= 22 × 7 × 14

= 2156cm³
