(Nog - 1)*0.35 +np *0.85+nl*1 Nog means no of electrons in outermost group, np means previous shell, nl jo left side mein bachelor

Zeff using Slater's rules
Sodium
(1s)(2s,2p)(3s,3p)
..1...0.85
S = 2 + 8(0.85) = 8.8
Zeff = Z - S = 11 - 8.8 = 2.2

Sodium .... 2.51 ..... 11 - 2.51 = 8.49 = 2 + 8(0.811)
Potassium .... 3.49 ...... 19 - 3.49 = 15.51 = 10 + 8(0.689)
This modifies the contribution to shielding from the electrons in the n-1 sublevel (where the valence electron is in the n energy level, but I really think it's not this simple. Predicting the value for Rb is a bit daunting.
