It is easy.
Mixed fraction = Whole number x Numerator + Denominator / Denominator = Fraction

For taking example, let us take the mixed fraction 2 1/4
2 1/4=  2x1+4 / 4 = 2+4 / 4 = 6 / 4 = 3 / 2

You can check by dividing 3 to 2.

It is quite simple.

Whenever you have a mixed fraction, you will multiply the whole number (the larger number next to the fraction) by the denominator (the bottom number on the fraction). Then, add the numerator (the top number on the fraction). After that, you will take your final number and put it over whatever your original denominator was.

For example, say you have the fraction 2\frac{3}{6}.

First, you would multiply 2 and 6 to get 12.

Next, you would add 3 to 12 to get 15.

Finally, you would put 15 over 6 (your original denominator) to get the fraction \frac{15}{6}.

Another way you could have done that was simplified the \frac{3}{6} into \frac{1}{2}.

To simplify it, all I did was \frac{3/3}{6/3} = \frac{1}{2}.

Then, you would have this fraction. 2\frac{1}{2}.

After that, you would multiply 2 and 2 to get 4.

Next, you would add 1 to 4 to get 5.

Finally, you would put 5 over 2 (your original denominator) to get the fraction \frac{5}{2}.

You may also be wondering, How did I get two different answers and they both be correct?

Well, if you simplify \frac{15}{6}, then you would get \frac{5}{2}.

To simplify it, all I did was \frac{15/3}{6/3} = \frac{5}{2}.

HOPE THIS HELPED!
