bond energy :- it is the amount of energy required to break all the bond in one molecule of a gaseous molecule.
bond energy € electronegativity € 1/size of atom € 1/number of lone pair .
where € is directly proportional to
example :- N2 > O2 bond energy
because N is smaller then O atom .
(b) bond length : - the average distance between the center of nuclei of two bonded atoms in a molecule is called bond length . it depends on size of atom. if size is small of an atom then bond also short .
bond length€ 1/multiple bond .
this is also depend upon hybridization , steric effect and resonance effect .this study in organic chemistry .
example:-
N2 <O2 bond length due to N-N atoms have triple bond whereas O-O atoms have double bond .
