How to compere a programme of children day in English

Children are future of nation and the world at large.  

The first children's day was organized in Geneva in October 1953 which was promoted by International Union for Child Welfare.  

India's representative at the United Nations was Shri V.K. Krishna Menon who told the idea of celebrating children's day globally.  

United Nations General Assembly agreed upon the idea and decides to celebrate children's day in 1954 so as to bring an exchange and understanding between the children belonging to the different communities of member countries of the UN.  

United Nations also targeted at bringing about the advantages of development in world to be used for  welfare of children globally.  

So, children's day came to be globally celebrated in the month of October.

           Anchoring Script / Compering Children's Day Program

Good morning everyone present; today is a great day. We are going to celebrate CHILDREN’S DAY. Let’s enjoy this day.  

All of us know this day is Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru’s birth anniversary. He loved children and this day began to be celebrated as Children’s Day.

Let’s dedicate the celebrations to all the children in the world. The celebrations will start with the lighting of the candle. I request our esteemed Principal to light the candle.

Now our school teachers have prepared a song for children. Put your hands together for our talented teachers’ choir.  

Wow! What a performance!

Now the cake cutting ceremony will be done. Our Principal along with students and teachers will cut the cake.

Now a quiz competition will be held. The most interesting thing about the quiz is each time comprises of teachers and students both. Let’s see which team wins.  

Now, I request our Principal madam/sir to say a few words to the gathering on the occasion.
