how to compute sigma 2^n

It will be..

2^1 +2^2 +2^3 + ................+ 2^n

Here , we can see the formation of a G.P. with a = 2 and r =2

So,

Sn = a(r^n - 1)/r-1

2(2^n - 1)/2-1

2(2^n - 1)
