So, to make you understand this question I take example in which BC = 5 cm and < B = 60° and AB + AC = 7 cm.
Steps of construction :
1. Draw BC of length 5 cm.
2. Draw angle B 60° using compass.
3. Draw a ray and cut BD of 7 cm
4. Now, join CD.
5. Draw a perpendicular bisector of CD which intersects BD at A.
6. Now join AC.
Hence ∆ABC is required figure.
