Answer:

Convert PowerPoint slideshow to a PhotoStory movie

Convert PowerPoint slideshow to a PhotoStory movie [Printer Friendly Version]

Save your PowerPoint as a JPEG. Click on the arrow by "Save as type:" and scroll down to JPEG File Interchange Format.

Open PhotoStory

Import the files you just exported from PowerPoint

Arrange your pictures in the order you want them. You can also rotate and edit them.

If one of your slides has a picture and you want to add a caption, this is where you would do it, otherwise you will skip this part

PowerPoints often have words that do not lend themselves to the "Motions" part of PhotoStory. Here are the directions for moving all motion.

Click on the "Customize Motion..." button

Click on the top box "Specify start and end position of motion." This will activate other boxes

Generally someone will be narrating the presentation. Timing needs to be adjusted for each slide. Do this by clicking the radio button under Duration called "Number of seconds to display the picture"

The first slide will need the box checked "Set start position..." The end slide will need only the box checked "Set end position" All of the other slides require both boxes to be checked.

When you are finished with these settings... You can use the "Preview" button to check the timing, to see if any slides were skipped, etc.

If everything looks good, click Close

You can also change the transitions. Be wary of too many transitions and/or as it can cause the viewer to lose track of what the content is as the eyes try to focus on the changing pictures.

Each slide will now have a time (ex. 00.09) showing how long each slide will be displayed

You can now add sound by using the record button

Always remember to click Save Project before closing out PhotoStory. This will save your project so that you can continue working later.

Add music from Zounds Abound or other copyright free music sources.

Network location: S:\Staff and Students\Soundzabound

Next save it for playback on your computer

Under File name you will probably need to click on it and then scroll left to see the full title of the file. This is important in finding it again

You can also change what folder you want it stored in and where you want it saved onto - your H drive, flash drive, etc.

Click on Next and it will compile your project. (Building your story)

If you don't want to "View your story" or "Create a new story" click Exit

Saving the File as a Project

Always click Yes. This finalizes your project so you can retrieve it and edit later.

Here is where you can change the File name if you have been working on different versions of the same title (example: audio voice/ music added).
