By using reagent Lithium aluminum hydride (LiAlH4) and NaBrH4 too. Both of them can reduce ethanoic acid to ethanol. But LiAlH4 is more good. It can reduce all types of carboxylic acid

Explanation:

Aluminum Lithium hydride is used as a reducing agent which reduces carbonyl compound into alcohols.

So, when acetic acid is treated with aluminum lithium hydride in the presence of ether followed by the hydrolysis in acidic medium yields ethanol as a product.

CH_3COOH\xrightarrow [2.) H^+,H_2O]{1.) LiAlH_4;ether}C_2H_5OH
