Explanation:

We know in ethyl magnesium chloride, the CH3CH2 part becomes negative charged and the MgCl part is possitively charged. Therefore, when we add Methanal in presence of dry ether in it, it forms (H2)C(OMgCl)(C2H5) and then it is further hydrolysed and propan-1-ol is formed.
