Propyne can be converted into ethyne by following step of reaction -
(i). React propyne with lindlar's catalyst , propene is formed .
(ii). React propene with ozone in the presence of water , acetaldehyde is formed .
(iii). React acetaldehyde with PCl , 1,1 dichloroethane is formed .
(iv). React 1,1 dichloroethane with alcoholic potassium hydroxide ( KOH ) , ethyne is formed .
