TanQ = sinQ/cosQ.... it is mainly the way to open tanQ into cos and sin but sometimes we have to use different formulas to reach this step. It all depends on the type question.

tan x = sin x / cos x

= opposite side/ adjacency side

eg;

if tan x is given as √3

sinx /cosx = √3/1

therefore

sin x= √3 cos x

here cos x = cos 60 = √3/2

therefore sin x = 3/2
