NSTSE/NTSE is an ambitious exam. It provides you a platform to know your ability in competitive environment. Scholarship is the main profit behind the exam. Always keep your ambitions high like you are doing right now.
So lets begin.
Go through the syllabus. I presume you'd have already looked into it. It has science and maths in its syllabus. I'm going to tell you a simplest strategy to conceptualize yourself for the exam.
Go through the previous year papers and look for the portions that have been regularly asked. Study those portions first.
For maths: study Maths class 7th,8th,9th and 10th books first. Yeah right! 10th books too! But according to the syllabus of NSTSE.Besides these, buy books specifically written for “NSTSE/NTSE maths” with solved previous papers. Practice questions from those books related to your syllabus only.
For science: read the science books from 6th to 10th class. You can also refer S. Chand or together with for the same. Make high quality notes. Notes will help you revise at the time of examination.
Strategy to be followed: study smartly.
First go through the previous year papers. Analyse oftenly asked topic. This provides you weightage of the topics and then read the topics from the NCERT and the books you've bought. Once you're finished with these, solve questions related to your topic and previously asked questions. By the end of the day you'd have excelled on that topic.
But dont forget to revise and practice everyday. Revise covered topics for atleast one hour daily. Practice questions daily to improvise yourself even if you've gained the confidence.
Lastly, slow and steady wins the race. So spend your time on books. It is always worth more than money.
