    How to cultivate human values ?  That is a good question, in these days of reducing human values.  First of let us know what they are.  Love, fairness, goodness, diligence, respecting elders, honesty, caring for others, trustworthiness, discipline etc.  Being human is to take good care of environment, animals and birds too.  Courage, self-awareness and integrity are also human values.
 
    Kids are taught explicitly these human values by the elders.  Later children and teenagers learn them from their professors, parents and grandparents and from famous idols too.  These human values are universal and common to all people in all countries.

    It is essential to cultivate them step by step during young age.  We follow a good discipline.  We stay in a group of good people.  We try to do good deeds always.  We think positively in all situations.  This could involve some pain, inconvenience and effort.  We should not go for shortcuts in life by violence or cheating.   

   Reading well acclaimed books and epics could enhance the human values too.  Further, if one has some pets, if one does gardening and grows flowers, takes care of old people, or has children or takes care of kids, then one cultivates excellent human values.  Good diary writing, wide reading of people's cultures and their difficulties also enables one to enhance human values.  Often interacting with foreign people and sharing one's ideas in a good group too sheds down narrow feelings and concepts.
